Today in Tips in Town, I am featuring another restaurant in town where we like to go.

I would personally say that it is the best place in town known for it's good quality and value when you want to eat Japanese. I am off course talking about Sakura Restaurant.

And yes you can still get an healthy dinner out of their menu with their fish and raw vegetables which are lean & clean, only stay away from the deep fried tempura, calamari, gyoza and other rice dishes....

So here is what I normally order when we go. I always get their hot Japanese green tea ( I normally not a fan of Green Tea but like theirs, cause it's not bitter)

- The combo Salmon, Tuna Sashimi. (total 12 pieces, which mean 6 each) - The Seared Tuna Tataki, yum with their spicy mustard. (4 slices each) - The Alaskan Maki Mono (3 pieces each) - Edamame Bowl and sometimes the Spicy Tuna Salad.

If am still hungry I normally get 1 Maguro (Tuna) Nigiri and 1 Sake (Salmon) Nigiri.

And Please eat the vegetables!!!! like the carrots, radish spirals, cucumber slices.... they are not only here for the decoration on your plate.... What I do, is that I wait to have all our orders together, and put all the veggies decoration into one plate... it makes a nice salad plate ;-)

Did you know: Most sushi rice has white sugar mixed in, further loading it up with refined carbohydrates. (Each roll Packs is the equivalent of a cup of rice) That's why it is better to stay away from the rolls and order Sashimi or Maki instead.

Something I haven't tried yet in Hua Hin, is to ask your rolls "Naruto Style" which mean they are wrapped in cucumber instead.... will keep you posted about that one.... or better let me know the next time you try.

From lowest to highest in Calories: -1 Tuna Sashimi - > 18 Calories -1 Vegetable Roll -> 39 calories -1 California Roll -> 41calories -1 Shrimp Tempura Roll - > 53 calories -1 Rainbow Roll -> 58 calories -Shrimp Nigiri -> 62 calories - Salmon & Avocado Hand Roll -> 134calories

Quick Tip: When eating Nigiry, dip the fish side not the Rice into the soy sauce to avoid overloading it with sodium.

Itadakimasu!!!
