Couple of weeks ago I came across this picture published from a magazine in Australia. So I kept it and thought it was good to share it with you and to talk about it on a Friday Post since it is the day which is dedicated to being Fit & Fabulous.

Body size and body type is something women obsess over all the time. As women, we all have various heights, shapes and genetic makeup. We all carry our weight differently. So why is it that women are often obsessing over that number? I keep saying it, Don’t focus too much on the scale. Instead make sure to put the best Nutrients in your plate and have a regular exercises routine… not only for your outlook but for the inside as well.

All the women in the photo above weight 154 pounds or around 70kgs. But see how they all look different? That’s What I used to weight (actually a bit more 165 Pounds to be exact 75kgs)

We need to learn to embrace our size and honor who we are by understanding we all will look different no matter what the number on the scale says.

So let’s focus on the Measurements and Body Fat that we are taking monthly at the Gym. There is going to be ups and down … and these Measures will actually show you right away if you’ve been bad, And it will make you realize that when I say that Nutrition is 70% of how you look…. I am not kinding. Fitness is just here like a support.

Another Good thing to Know, And I sometimes have a hard time to explain it when you ask me. BMI Stands for Body Mass Index…. Not Body Muscles Index it is actually a bit different. It attempt to quantify the amount of tissue mass (muscle, fat, and bone) in an individual, and then categorize that person as underweight, normal weight, overweight, or obese based on that value. However, there is some debate about where on the BMI scale the dividing lines between categories should be placed. Commonly accepted BMI ranges are underweight: under 18.5, normal weight: 18.5 to 25, overweight: 25 to 30, obese: over 30.

But I wouldn’t worry to much about that. Just focus on the body fat reduction, either you goals are to loose weight or toning, and eating healthy will be the best thing you can do to your body.

Another simple alternative to the BMI is to define obese individuals as those whose waist circumference is greater than 50% of their height, indicating excess intra-abdominal fat. Or like the article above says: A woman's waist should be 80 centimeters or less, and a man's 94 centimeters or less. Excess weight around the abdomen is a risk factor for heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Oh And did I mention it is FAST & FURIOUS FRIDAY? So come and pay a visit at SLIMher.
